Every parent wishes to raise their child healthy but this is easier said than done. A growing trend of fast food has made it extremely difficult for parents to constantly ensure that their kid’s health is not compromised on. Here are a few child health care tips you can follow while raising your child.

1.      Choose healthy food

If you are confused as to what consists of a nutritious meal for your child, children hospital are the best source of information. They provide you a detailed list of all the fruits, vegetables and proteins that help your child grow. They also provide you with a list of food to maintain your baby’s health if you have a child below the age of 3 years.

 2.      Eat on time

It is extremely important for your child’s health that he or she eat their meals on time every day. Since children are usually fussy about this, try to make it a rule that the entire family sits down together to eat together, especially for dinner. This will allow the child to not only have dinner but also interact and feel a part of the family. Also, avoid quick microwave dinners. Try cooking wholesome food which provides a variety for the child. Making food look interesting helps the child be more willing to eat.

 3.      Quality regular sleep

It is extremely important for your kids health that he or she gets their rest. Set a bed time and stick to it every day. Though your child may not agree, they need their rest. An estimate of ten hours of sleep is required for a growing child’s health. Too little sleep and the child will be low on energy and grouchy the entire day. Avoid keeping electronics such as televisions, video games and cell phones in your child’s room. This would also include reducing the amount of time watching television as it is an unhealthy habit.  A fixed number of hours of sleep for your baby’s health cannot be maintained. New born babies have their own sleep schedules which may involve them waking up hungry in the middle of the night. This is completely normal.

 4.      Regular exercise

Several children hospitals will tell you the importance of playing outdoors for your child. Not only does it become a form of exercise, but also allows your child to interact with others, make friends, use his imagination etc. Sadly, with the increase in school work and importance of electronics, a child’s health is being seriously affected due to lack of playing. Encourage your child to go out for an hour every day to get some fresh air.
